planes
i think that pilots would be really worried about staling out. Also pulling an insane amount of Gs because the planes couldn't pull off crazy maneuvers the pilot would still attempt to. when they tried to they could potential rip off the wings or stop the propeller from spinning. Also there was the potential hazard of get shot with the machine gun bullets penetrating the wings or main hull of the plane. Also the machine gun in the front could shoot off the propeller. A German inventor made the triggering mechanism for the machine gun so it wouldnt shoot out the propeller.
great war
WWI was the war that caused a lot of deaths. Mostly because of the new weapons such as machine guns and flamethrowers. Also trench warfare was extremely stressing on soldiers. The diseases would kill many soldiers and cause irritations to soldiers such as lice. They also had to deal with the constant stress of enemies being right across the field. The machine gun was a big invention along with gas and artillery as it killed many many soldiers.
Call of Duty
I think that call of duty and other violent video games are a freedom of speech. I think that these games should be allowed to stay just the way they are as they can express the harsh realities of war. They may not depict war to the utmost accuracy, but they do show intense scenes and reality of war. They are also usually over the top kind of war most of the time the wars are not as gung-ho. In these games you generally play the role of one character and it goes through a story telling how the character progresses through the war. In call of duty 2 you played as a british captain at one point and you traversed all kinds of historical battles and sights. Also the player sees the stresses that the soldiers go through. From freezing their fingers to watching explosions and other things similar to that. Also in these video games you can experience the reality of war or an over dramatization of what war would be like. It is an emotional experience really. Yes it is fun to shoot "bad guys" but really its for experiencing the emotional part of the wars.

crush the weak
Currently the Syrians are occupying Lebanon. They have been occupying them for the past 40 years, since 1970s they have controlled them for money revenue and military control. Syria is bringing in around 3 billion dollars from occupying Lebanon because of its trade market and untaxed and unregulated workers. No one wants to intervene because of a fear of instability in the government and just the way the people are. Everyone else feels if they try to help it will just enhance the conflict further and cause a crisis across the entire middle eastern area due to influence and alliances.
ability...
Should we be able to use things like school of the americas? hmm thats an interesting question... in my opinion i think we should be able to. Simply because in a way countries such as Venezuela do not like us. If we were to over throw them it would be a benifit for our country because it adds to our national defense because we do not need to worry about that country anymore. They wont be a threat to our people anymore and yes this does sound like a very greedy self centered thought but really its a form of self defense. If someone was wanting to fight you and you know you would probably get some bruises or something that you dont want but you dont want to fight that person directly you are going to try to do something to mess with them psychologically. well its a similar case here where we need to take out the thought of the hate which starts with the leader putting out propaganda convincing his people that we are evil. We take that out we take out the propaganda against us.
panama canal
the workers there faced many problems such as Malaria, Yellow Fever, dysentery, typhoid, dengue. About 500 people died for every mile that they built. Some of the dangers were the fact that they would carry entire crates full of dynamite. Also when they would blow up the dynamite it would cause cave ins or would blow up the people. They would light the dynamite and would have to run because the fuse was not very long so it caused it to blow up quickly. Many people died from diseases such as Malaria, Yellow Fever, Dysentery, Typhoid, and Dengue. Also dehydration was a problem along with starvation and many died from the change in climate going from warm to extreme jungle and tropical climate.
300
I think that the movie 300 is a great example of imperialism. I believe it is an example because the Persians attempting to take over the city of Sparta. The Persians in my opinion are the imperialists because they have conquered and destroyed every nation that tried to stand up to them except Sparta. Xerxes is the leader of the Persian army. The Persian army was of the biggest in the world at the time. They ran through many towns and killed everyone in the towns. Such as in the scene when the spartans were looking for the persians after a extremely big battle. They found a town burning and many dead people hanging from trees or dead bodies on the floor or burned. Women were raped and then hung from a tree. In another scene Xerxes is on his throne that is carried by many slaves. He comes to the spartans and tries to get the spartans to join the persian army and surrender sparta to the persians. obviously the spartans refused because they wanted their independence. Also the scene in the very begining when a messenger comes to sparta to ask them to come peacefully and surrender to the persians and Gerrard butler yells "THIS IS SPARTA!!!" (very famous quote). He then kicks the messenger into a giant hole that they were standing by and has his fellow spartans slaughter the guards for the messenger igniting the war between sparta and the persians.

former slaves
Former slaves did not really have it any better or worse. Because they were forced to work for the plantation owners again because they didnt know how to do anything else. So they worked on them for a cheap contract paying them almost nothing. Also the slaves had to pay for the tools they used and the food they ate and the land they used to live. So really it was no different than being in slavery. In fact it may have been worse then being in slavery.
Granting Amnesty
I think that the north should not have granted amnesty to the south. I think because of all the lives they took and damage they did they should not be completely forgiven for it. I think that they should have had to make some form of a payment whether it was with crops or people or something. They should have helped maybe rebuild the north and given the north something significant. In a way though i do think that the south was in the right simply because they were trying to defend their Constitutional rights as american citizens.
treatment of people
The treatment of the African american community through both times was extremely unfair. It was unfair because in both times they were treated like they were inferior to all the other races except native Americans. They were forced to eat in separate places, go to separate restrooms, and drink from different water fountains. It was incredibly unfair and in the slavery reconstruction days and were sometimes killed then. They were also killed in the civil rights days because some people did not think they should have the same and equal freedoms. This was an incredibly harsh way to look at it and unjust in my opinion.

that is an awesome mustache!!!
Lt.Chamberlain is completely right and moral is an extremely important thing to any army. If the army feels like they will not win or are not sure what they are fighting for then they start questioning things like "why am i doing this?" or making statements such as "we are going to lose this battle". It starts to get the troops to think negatively and will have a higher chance of losing. Troops and soldiers need to think that they are going into a war or battle for something and a reason. Moral is one the most important weapons an army can have in a fight. In football, if the team thinks they are going to lose they will most likely not play as well if they believed that they could overcome the other team using a new strategy or something similar. They need to believe they are going to go in and win!
stereotypes
Stereotypes are so widely known simply because there is SOME truth to each stereotype. I mean they are not all completely true, but they are stereotypes for a reason. Also the reason we see so many stereotypes are because they are seen everywhere and in media sometimes. Also statistics prove them sometimes; for example the stereotype of asians being extremely smart is a lot of the time true because in asia the children are much more challenged then they are in the United States. Also their parents make them do really good in school, it is just part of the culture and its that way with a lot of stereotypes they are just part of the culture. Also look at the statistics for testing scores on asians they generally are a little bit higher. Not always but its just a small statistic and its just their culture to challenge themselves more. I think stereotypes are wrong but in a way they are simply implanted in us as humans, its human nature.
less is sometimes better
I think that less government is much better than having too much government. I believe it is because if you have government stepping in controlling everything then that takes away the purpose of having a freedom. I would defiantly not want the government telling me i can only eat 20mg of salt per day. Also i do not think it would be fair and it would potentially ruin capitalism if government tried to step in to prevent people from making money. The only exception is if people are dieing or being treated EXTREMELY harshly but we now have state laws that change that. All the government in my opinion is really meant for is for the defense of the country, maintaining peace, and foreign policy.
Leaving little gaps makes a big hole
I do not think that they should leave things out of their education simply because something went wrong or they are shamed of it. Yes i agree it is not something to be proud of for killing a bunch of innocent people or slaughtering PoWs, but i think that people should know somethings about what their country did. For example the bataan death march should be recorded in United States History textbooks. I think they should also cover more of the Vietnam war even though people look down on it. I think that they should look over ALL the history of a country because it will teach people that yes everyone makes mistakes and we are no different. It gets to a point where people are wondering what happens at that point in time. I can honestly say i know almost nothing about the Vietnam war and all i do know is basic things and what i learned from hearing horrifying stories, playing games, and watching war movies.
The Importance of History
Yes, i believe history is VERY important because we need to know what mistakes people made before so we do not make them. People always say history repeats itself and i believe that because people are not as educated on history as they should be. In a way it is like buy a new T.V., would you buy a TV that people were having problems on based on reviews online? no you most likely would not, its a mistake someone else made so that you would not make the same one as they did. Looking at things that failed for other countries would help us learn what we should not do to keep ourselves alive.
history
History is sometimes referred to as the lie that is commonly agreed on, because the people that write history are usually the ones who make it. History can sometimes be altered a little to make one country, race, or faction look a lot better. Also sometimes history is twisted so that people will believe something. If you are told something from when you are a child at around 6 or 7 all the way until you are 16 then you will believe it is 100% true. Meaning that most people will commonly agree on Christopher Columbus being the first to discover america because we were taught that for all our life.
